New
Strategic Alliance Announced
February 2010
Hurricane, UT
We are pleased to
announce the strategic alliance that
has recently been formed between DATS
Trucking and Best Overnite Express.
On March 1, 2010, Best and DATS will
move forward together as two separate
and entirely independent entities
working towards the common goals of:
- providing the
best service in the market
- having the most
efficient operations
- employing the
most skilled and talented
transportation industry experts
- making our
companies profitable in the
immediate future as well as for the
long term
There has been no
merger or acquisition, but rather a
joint effort to partner our
strengths, consolidate operations in
the market, to be more efficient and
to focus in the service areas each
knows best. Our strategic alliance
will focus on consolidating efforts
specifically in the states of CA and
NV. Best Overnite will manage all
operations in CA, while DATS will do
the same in our core states.
By pooling our efforts and expertise,
Best Overnite and DATS will be poised
for tremendous growth and limitless
success in the LTL markets we service
for many years to come.
We appreciate your business. Please

Change
in Operations for New Mexico
November 2009
Hurricane, UT
Dear
Valued Customers,
During these tough economic times, it
is good to recognize our humble
beginnings and what has made us "Your
Quality Service Carrier”. It is also
good to recognize our strengths in
this very competitive market. We
appreciate your business and your
trust in us.
As we review our history of declining
tonnage and revenues in our New
Mexico market, a decision has been
made to cease operations in the state
of New Mexico. Long mileage and low
volumes combined with minimal results
and weak demand from our customers
has led us to this decision. Our plan
is to close our service centers in
New Mexico within the next 2 weeks.
Here
is the planned schedule for this
change in operations:
11/20–Farmington terminal closure
11/25–Last day of pickups destined to
New Mexico
12/01–Las Cruces
terminal closure
12/02–Albuquerque terminal closure
Going forward, this change will allow
us to concentrate on our core service
areas and continue to provide Quality
Service in those lanes.
We appreciate your business. Please
contact the
nearest terminal, or your DATS
Account Executive with any questions
you may have.

DATS Participates in UDOT's "Drive Truck Smart" Campaign
April 25, 2007
West Jordan, UT
Click this photo for additional photos of this event.

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Motor Carrier Services
Division continued its educational campaign today encouraging teen beginning drivers to “Drive
Truck Smart” with a hands-on demonstration at Copper Hills High School in West Jordan, UT. DATS is participating in this
campaign by applying vinyl wraps to several trailers and providing equipment and employees to staff events around the state. At
this event, drivers’ education students were able to sit inside the cab of a semi truck surrounded by cars they couldn’t see for
the “blind spots.” Demonstrations were also held related to stopping distances. This gave them an up-close look at how
commercial motor vehicles behave differently than passenger vehicles. “As part of our Commercial Vehicle
Safety Plan we saw the need to help educate young drivers on ways to drive safely and courteously around commercial motor
vehicles,” said Rick Clasby, Motor Carrier Services division director.
“We have received an incredible amount of support from the trucking industry as well, receiving national recognition from the
American Trucking Association and other states that want to utilize our educational materials,” said Rick Clasby, Motor Carrier
Services division director for UDOT. “Our goal is to reduce the number of deaths resulting from crashes with commercial trucks
by 41 percent across the nation by 2008”.
Watch for news about additional events around the state.
